Community Rehabilitation Programme

People can be working towards abstinence or newly abstinent from illicit or prescribed drugs.

Multiple Choice community programme offers an alternative to long-term residential rehab.

COMMUNITY REHABILITATION

Multiple Choice works on an individual basis with people accessing the project. This means that we are able to tailor support accordingly. Support may include some or all of the list below:

  • One-to-One support with dedicated key-worker
  • Group-work (see above)
  • Advocacy
  • Complementary therapies including Indian Head Massage and Electro-Stimulation Therapy (Black Box)
  • Sleep and detox teas and detox support plans
  • Advice and Information
  • Referral to specialist agencies re: debt, housing, etc
  • Access to hepatitis nurse

Multiple Choice works with people who want to make changes to their substance use.  Therefore, we strive to ensure that the project is a safe place for people to visit.   We positively encourage support from families and others concerned for people attending the project.

GROUP-WORK

The Multiple Choice group-work programme has sessions running every day from Monday to Friday.  The sessions are run by Multiple Choice staff and peer support workers who have been through the programme themselves. Topics covered in group-work include:

  • Relapse Prevention
  • Harm Reduction
  • Relationship Skills
  • Assertiveness Skills
  • Drug Awareness
  • Goal Setting
  • Problem Solving
  • Handling Anxiety
  • Health and Diet
  • Art and Creative Writing

People only need to have attended two key-work sessions in order to access the group-work programme.  You will be reimbursed fares for public transport on production of valid tickets if you attend the programme.
