| 6 week Induction Programme |
| Volunteers are recruited 3 - 4 times each year and undergo 12 induction sessions over a period of 6 weeks. This comprises a toolkit of essential skills and information for volunteers, and forms the comprehensive grounding necessary to build confidence and knowledge for working in the health and social care sector. |

Session 2 - Getting to know Multiple Choice |
The first session is an opportunity to lay aside nerves, and begin to get to know each other. The programme is introduced, and the group agrees ground rules for the coming weeks. The Multiple Choice Code of Conduct and the Confidentiality Policy are introduced. CRB evidence is gathered and there is an opportunity for individual discussion with the Volunteer Manager |
Multiple Choice's Practice Manager leads this session covering the history of the organisation, where we sit in relation to other services in the city and more detail on the services we deliver. there is an open space for questions and answers and a tour of the building. |
| Session 3 - Confidentiality |
Session 4 - Boundaries |
A chance to learn and practice the importance of confidentiality within a health and social care setting. The Multiple Choice confidentiality policy is used to guide individuals through a series of role plays and exercises, all highlighting the potential implications of not understanding or adhering to this policy. |
Role play and practical exercises are employed again, to further emphasise the importance of setting boundaries and to reinforce the routes of communication and responsibility within the organisation. |

| Why do people use drugs ? What kind of drugs do they use? How can drug use affect people? What kind of help is available and what services in Leeds can offer support. |
Underlining the importance of good communication and time skills and making sure that people know they are being listened to. Building confidence around getting your message across, and picking up messages yourself. Verbal and non-verbal communication. |
