Volunteering Project Evaluation

In 2008 Multiple Choice were awarded funding from The Big Lottery Reaching Communities fund to develop our volunteering project for 3 years and we have now reached the end of the project.

We feel very privileged to have worked with such a great group of volunteers and have learnt so much from every single one of them. Helping people to develop themselves is a fantastic part of the job and we wish everyone luck in their futures.

Thankyou to all volunteers and placement agencies

what was the programme

The emphasis of the Volunteering Development Project was on supporting individuals who have had experience of social exclusion, or were from so called "hard to reach groups", and are 18+. The project was aimed at increasing an individual's employability and focused on an individual gaining new skills, confidence and moving towards education and paid employment in health and social care.

The programme recruited volunteers several times a year and began with an intensive 6 week Induction Programme.

The Volunteer Development Project offered volunteering placements within Multiple Choice and the opportunity to take up volunteering within partner agencies in the health and social care field.

Below are some final Project Figures:

Over the 3 years we had outcomes to meet - below outlines each one:

70 volunteers will complete the 6 week intensive Induction Programme and have increased confidence, knowledge, skills and experience as a result.

81 volunteers completed the volunteer induction programme

60 volunteers will participate in external volunteer placements and will have increased employability by the end of the project.

48 volunteers had gone to placements

4 people will have gained employment through the Volunteer Management post and the three year-long Trainee posts.

Daisy Davey, Jasmin Ali, Kelly Crosby and Michaela Shaw

9 health and social care organisations (including Multiple Choice) will benefit from trained volunteers by the end of the project.

we have worked with over 15 partner agencies

500 service users will benefit from volunteer input and peer support by the end of the project.

over 800 clients have been supported by our project volunteers

at our external placement agencies over the three years, more than 1000 clients have been supported by our project volunteers.
